Skytrax, a leading research advisor to the aviation industry, hosted its annual World Airline Awards 2009 on 1st April in Hamburg. The world’s best airline award went to Cathay Pacific. Eight of the top ten airline awards went to Asian and Middle Eastern airlines. The other two in the top-ten were Qantas and Air New Zealand.

Other notable winners in the various categories include Air Asia (Best Low Cost Airline), Malaysia Airlines (Best Cabin Staff) and Emirates (Best Inflight Entertainment).

Continental is my favourite American airline. Then again, it’s not hard to top the likes of Delta or AA!!
The only North American airline that was awarded was Continential for “Best North American Airline” got to love it…
I totally agree with these choices. Cathay has been a perpetual favourite. I’m not surprised at all that North American airlines are not on the list. They’re so backwards when it comes to aviation. The Middle Eastern / Asian airline companies rule the air!
