Skytrax, a leading global aviation advisor, conducts audits of the world’s premium airlines every year. The airlines that score the best – on a wide range of aspects such as the quality and efficiency of staff service both onboard as well as on the ground, the quality of onboard catering, seat comfort and in-flight entertainment – are awarded a Five Star ranking. It is no surprise that all the airlines that have been awarded with a Five Star ranking are from the Asia-Pacific/Gulf region. The current Five Star airlines are:
- Asiana Airlines (Korea)
- Cathay Pacific (Hong Kong)
- Kingfisher Airlines (India)
- Malaysia Airlines (Malaysia)
- Qatar Airways (Qatar)
- Singapore Airlines (Singapore)

Hi Gaby,
Yes, I was wondering about that too. If I’m not mistaken, I believe they did have a 5* ranking before but must’ve have lost it. Malaysia Airlines, Singapore and Cathay have managed to hang on to theirs for the past few years. I’ve just checked: Emirates now has a 4* ranking.
Kind regards,
Keith
wow, it’s all asian airlines! I wonder why not Emirates, as I heard they have an excellence service too?
