My best friend Eugene, who lives in Vancouver, Canada, called me over the weekend and spoke about an awesome electric storm that hit Vancouver the day before (Saturday, 25th July). Back at the office on Monday, he found out that various colleagues had taken some stunning photos of the storm. He sent me a few of these and I must say, that storm was certainly electric!
These brilliant shots were taken of Howe Sound in West Vancouver. Wish I had a view like that from my living room!

Well, I heard the weather they’re getting in Van City in much more like what we’d usually get in Toronto. And the weather we are getting in TO is much like what they would get in Vancouver. My thought? Uh-oh, global warming disaster? I hope not!
Awesome pictures.
Still hope to capture a great photo of lightning sometime in my life. Great shots of the storm.
Hi Rita,
Thanks for your comment. I couldn’t agree with you more! Vancouver is certainly one of the best places in the world to live.
Best regards,
Keith
These are fantastic photos., thanks for sharing.
Vancouver is such beautiful city, it can rival with any major metropolis in the world.
I loved Gastown, Stanley Park, the SkyTrain, everything. Surrounded by water, and the mountains so close, Vancouver has definitely the best of both worlds.
These are ‘striking’ pictures! Vancouver is such a cosmopolitan city and full of life. You can shop, take in a theater performance, or take the tram and view beautiful scenery. It definitely is a city that is worth visiting. If you live on the West or Northwest Coast of U.S., it’s just as short trip!
Thanks Ricardo! Great place to live, West Van!… except for the constant jams across the Lions Gate Bridge into downtown.
Cheers,
Keith
Wow, beautiful pictures! I used to live in West Van. Cool area to live in.
Hi Anna,
Thanks for your comment and the kind words. I’ll definitely keep up the blogging… I’m loving it!
Howe Sound is absolutely gorgeous. Glad you loved my Bali post too!
Cheers,
Keith
a tweet lead me to your beautiful blog. fascinated to see the photos of the electric storm in Vancouver – have family in Howe Sound….also loved your description of Bali. I was there in 1973 (yes, really, I’m old enough to be …) and it made a deep impression. Glad to hear that it still impresses despite modernization and industrialization. Oh and I’m a geographer working now in tourism. Keep up the quality blogging…
