You're absolutely right; you don't have to go half way around the world to experience a beautiful or exotic spot. There are many places closer to home that are stunning and definitely worth exploring. I've highlighted many of these places (Edinburgh, the Lake District, Liguria, Positano, Normandy, etc..) on my blog too. I compiled this list as my 'wish list' for this year.
