Valencia is the third-largest city in Spain and is the home of paella (YUM!) and the famous Falles festival. With its seaside setting, mile upon mile of sandy beaches, a treasure trove of heritage buildings and the futuristic City of Arts & Sciences (designed by one of my favourite architects, Santiago Calatrava; and Felix Candela), Valencia is a tourist hot-spot.
I was thrilled to receive an invitation from the Tourism Board of the region of Valencia for a five-day visit along with travel bloggers from around the world. The trip includes beach time (yay!), indulgence at the Sha Wellness Clinic, many undoubtedly fabulous meals, delicious cocktails, a travel blogger gathering and concludes with the Formula One race. Needless to say… I can’t wait!
My flight to Valencia with Transavia, a fun Dutch regional airline, takes off in a few hours. I’m really looking forward to meeting my Twitter friends @Traveldudes, @AbigailKing, @501places, @Adventuregirl, @WildJunket, @IsabellesTravel, @HotelIsabel, and making new friends with other Tweeps and travel bloggers.
