The Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is home to the largest walk-in aviary in the world, and is one of my Top-10 must-do’s in Kuala Lumpur. The KL Bird Park was opened amidst the scenic Lake Gardens in 1991 and currently houses more than 3,000 birds of approximately 200 local and foreign species. A leisurely stroll through the KL Bird Park is a great way to spend an afternoon. There are various paths that lead visitors through four different zones, where you can get up close to colourful parakeets and storks, watch peacocks strutting around proudly and see many different birds in free flight. Unfortunately, they were in the cage this time. When I first visited the park some years back, they were roaming around near the restaurant. It was amazing!

Hey Keith, seems like you did some local nature while you were back here! Love the pics and colours. Did you bump into the loose Rhino Bills while inside the enclosure? Last year when I went there, there were 2 of them just about 10 feet away un-caged.
Wow, this looks like an amazing place, and you’ve done a great job of capturing each bird’s character. The parrot munching a red chilli – seeds and all – is definitely my favourite!

Thanks D&D. The hornbills in Pangkor are really pretty. So cool to see them flying around freely. The rhinoceros hornbill is massive and I’ve seen it only once in the wild (in Sarawak).
