The Bay of Fundy in the province of Nova Scotia, on Canada’s Atlantic coast, is famous for having the greatest tidal range in the world. In certain areas around the bay, the difference between the tides can measure up to 16 meters (53 feet)! On my recent trip there, I stopped for a chat with this group of locals on the shores of the bay. They had buckets full of lobsters and other freshly caught seafood, wine and a beautiful campfire. The tide was slowly coming back in and the sun was setting, casting a gorgeous pinkish-orangy glow across the horizon – it was the perfect Velvet Moment!
