One of my favourite things to do in Amsterdam, when the weather is good, is to pack a meal and a bottle of wine and head for the Amstel River. There’s a certain spot I love where I can sit on the edge of the river, hang my legs over the edge and watch the boats pass by. I sometimes quack back at the ducks and before I know it, I’m engaged in an animated conversation with them – it must be quite a sight for those walking by. Boats come and go, filled with locals who are always in for a chat. I enjoy watching the ducks bob up and down with the waves and feeling the water wash over my feet each time a boat sails past. And when the sun sets, the river turns to a shimmering gold. It’s an absolutely magical spot to simply chill, people-watch, join in the banter and admire a stunning sunset. A true Velvet Moment in Amsterdam!
Rowers pass by…
… as we sip on wine…
…and watch the glorious sunset.

LOL! *quackquack*
Wonderful moment. I should try this soon… I may have more luck speaking duck than Dutch!
Haha! Yup!
Somebody’s using Camera+…. ;D
Wow. This seems perfect
Hahahahaha! Well you have me to translate Ducks to Dutch!
I know, it’s lovely..even though I don’t speak Ducks..
Hi Cole,
Good thing you weren’t here in February – temperatures dropped to -20 degrees at one point! haha! I was just back from Malaysia and had to endure a 50 degree difference. Needless to say, I didn’t feel so well.
Thanks! Just another reason why I love my iPhone.
Cheers,
Keith
Beautiful shots Keith! Loved Amsterdam but it was -2 degrees when we were there in January. Would prefer this weather
