velvet escape’s Culinary Journey: Hamburg

img_4446What: Fresh white asparagus with smoked salmon & a Hollandaise sauce

Where: Friesen Keller (Hamburg, Germany)

Note: The Friesen Keller is a typical Hamburg restaurant with efficient and friendly service, and hearty portions. The restaurant also has an outdoor terrace which boasts fantastic views of Hamburg’s famous landmark, the Rathaus. Late-spring is asparagus season and the Friesen Keller serves it with a variety of meats (including the ubiquitous schnitzel) and fish.

I would love to visit Germany but getting a visa for a longer period is difficult in our country,India,I would like to travel leisurely and not be rushed due to visa restrictions.

No way! That is a great pity. But there are so many other things that you CAN enjoy so all is not lost. ;-) Thanks for the comment.

    Cheers,
    Keith

Yummy…though sadly, I am severely allergic to wine and cannot have Riesling! I know, I know…what a sorry life I have…to be allergic to wine!! I’ll just live vicariously through you, the great Keith Jenkins!
