Keith, you don't even understand the pain in my heart that I haven't set foot in Africa yet. Someday, one day in the near future. In the meantime, I will live through your journeys!

Hi Emily,
Oh yes, there are loads of flamingos in Africa! Lake Nakuru is but a small area where they converge. No need to fear going on a safari in Africa. You're well taken care of. Besides, the animals are so used to thousands of humans peering at them, they don't really care anymore. At the Ngorongoro crater, a lion jumped up onto the bonnet of the jeep in front of us, lazily looked around (everyone in the jeep froze of course), then jumped off again. The guide said it was a good thing there wasn't an idiot in the jeep who decided to take a picture at that moment - the lion might've reacted to the sound of the shutter or a flash. So, my advice is just to use some common sense and you'll be fine. It really is worth it. The safaris in Africa are just awe-inspiring. You can then relax by spending some time on Zanzibar! :-)

Gorgeous photos of the wildlife! And I never would have thought that they have flamingos in Africa. I really want to go to Africa and go on a safari. The thought of it scares me, though I'm sure they go to great lengths to make sure you don't get eaten by a lion :)
