A short hop to Anguilla

Anguilla is one of those places where time seems to have stood still. This little island in the eastern Caribbean, just north of St. Martin is blessed with some of the most magnificent beaches in the world.

Anguilla is a short 30 minute boat ride from Marigot on the French side of St. Martin. It’s a perfect little getaway from the hustle and bustle of St. Martin. The island’s main attractions are its stunning white sandy beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters and its inhabitants who are friendly and easy-going. You can opt to make a day trip or stay a few days at one of the island’s (small scale, exclusive) beach hotels.

The boat from Marigot arrives at Blowing Point. If you’re staying for the day, you can hire a taxi and agree a day fare. The best option is to ask the taxi driver to make a short sightseeing trip that includes stops at the island’s highest point, Crocus Hill; Sandy Ground; and the capital, The Valley. Then head eastwards to Shoal Bay East, arguably Anguilla’s most stunning beach. You should agree a time for the taxi driver to bring you back to Blowing Point for the boat back to Marigot. Spend a very relaxing day on this breathtaking stretch of gorgeous white sand; rent a snorkel – the reefs are just off the shore; and enjoy a BBQ lunch at one of the beach cafes.

Velvet, it sounds like you did not know where to go or who to ask. Anguilla has a little bit for every one but most people come to AXA for the stunning beaches and enjoy the laid back lifestyle.

Jen, come on down, whatever you are looking for you can find on AXA if you know where to look or who to ask.

Hope to see you all in Anguilla.

Yes, there’s not much to do on Anguilla except laze on the stunning beaches and enjoy the laidback lifestyle. Perfect for a winter getaway! :-)
