Experiencing Catalonia
A group of travel bloggers, including me
, have been invited by the Department of Tourism of Catalonia to visit and experience the wonders of this stunning province in Spain for several days. I have no idea what the programme is – it remains a top secret! – but I’m really looking forward to this trip and meeting my travel blogger buddies. I’ve been instructed to bring extra warm winter clothing (and gloves??!!) AND swim shorts (huh?) so I’m guessing that the programme will include a trek through the Pyrenees and a soak in the hot springs – I may be wrong but it’s nevertheless exciting. I leave for Barcelona today. Woohoo! I won’t be posting any new articles for the next few days but you’ll be able to keep track of my Catalunya Experience via Twitter and the Twitter feed below. All tweets about my Catalunya Experience will include the hashtag #catexp.
Note: This trip is sponsored by the Department of Tourism of Catalunya.
Update 21st December 2009
It was a truly amazing trip. I would like to thank the Department of Tourism of Catalonia and Bloguzz for organising this travel blogger trip. The sights, activities and food were truly stunning, not to mention the superb organisation! I would also like to thank my fellow travel bloggers Nellie, Rich, Karen, Abigail, Juan Antonio, Aaron & Georgina, Marie-Ange and Ana for the excellent company and all the fun!

Hi John,
No worries. Glad to know it wasn’t anything serious with the navigation.
Cheers,
Keith
Keith,
I owe you an apology about the Twitter feeds, they do go to the Twitter profile.
I clicked the links on the 21 December update.
Yes, you can follow someone, but I no longer add Tweeps to my follow list unless I want a 2 way conversation with them. I now add them to a list and read their Tweets for a time. I might then Follow them or I will follow if they follow me. There is no point in following anyone who doesn’t follow back as you can read their Tweets by adding them to a list.
Sorry!
John
Hi John,
I certainly did enjoy Catalonia. I don’t quite understand what the problem is with the navigation. If you click on a person’s name (e.g. one of the travel bloggers), a pop-up window does appear and shows the profile of the person, including the last few tweets, and you can click on ‘Follow’ if you wish. I use the Apture plugin for these and I’ve never had a problem with it. It’s really quick and shows more or less the same if you were to insert a normal link to the person’s profile. No intention whatsoever on my part to be “anti-social”.
I’ve also tried the article links in the Twitter feed and a new window opens with the article. No problem with it at all. Very strange. Are you on IE?
You’re the first to say something about it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Cheers,
Keith
Keith,
Hope you enjoyed Catalunya. I’d just like to comment on this page’s navigation – its *#!*@! When you click on Twitter links you don’t go to that person’s Twitter profile but it opens a popup window. How anti-social is that?
Pages open painfully slow and you get stuck with a Stumble page header. They annoy the hell out of me.
John
hi! It is very exciting reading how delighted you have been in my city. It’s a pity I found you now that you are back. I would have liked to show you some hiden jewels in Barcelona, those that locals know. This is what we do in http://www.bealocal.es for our guests and what we share in our blog http://bealocalbcn.wordpress.com . I hope you keep enjoying the city through it.
Any time you think in coming back, do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards from Barcelona
I follow you in twitter.
Angels.
Ding! Can’t wait to hear about it. Barcelona is and has consistently been one of my favorites cities in the world. If for nothing else than the sangria! Indulge a little for me please. :0)
Catalonia = the sangria capital of the world.
Enjoying all the updates and picx from Spain. Keep them coming.
Hi JoAnna,
We’ll be here till Sunday.
Yes, very exciting!
Cheers,
Keith
How exciting! I can’t wait to hear about everything you’re going to be doing. How long will you be in Spain?
