The Perfect Challenge for Geographiles Like Me!
I discovered TravelPod’s Traveler IQ Challenge several years ago via facebook. I was hooked the first time I played it. Its concept is simple: a place anywhere around the world is randomly selected and you have to drop a pin on the world map to locate it and you have to do this as quickly as possible! The closer the pin to the exact location, and the quicker it’s dropped, the more points you accumulate. As you progress (there are 12 Levels), the places get trickier and you get less time to drop the pin. In the advanced stages, you’ll find yourself trying to locate cities in Siberia or thinking you’ve got the Norwegian town nailed, only to find out it’s 12,000 kilometers from Norway! At the end of the game, your Traveler IQ is calculated. Mine’s currently 137.
It’s a fun and educational game; the perfect challenge for geographiles like me. 🙂 I have to confess that I used to play this game many times at the office; it provided me with my moment of solitude and it was often a welcome distraction.
Play it here… but beware: this game is highly addictive. 😉
