Road tripping in Victoria

My Victoria road trip – on the road to Halls Gap in the Grampians.

Victoria is one of Australia’s smallest states but what it lacks in size (relatively-speaking – Australia is after all a massive country!), it makes up for in diversity: from craggy mountains to resplendent vineyards, expansive gumtree forests, spectacular coastal cliffs, stunning nature parks, colourful gardens and vibrant cities. To complement this, there’s a great variety of world-class cuisines, wines and natural and historic attractions.

The best way to discover all this is simply to hire a car and embark on a road trip. The roads are excellent, there are ample accommodation options and again, Victoria’s relatively small size means that no place is more than a few hours’ drive from its capital Melbourne.

Five bloggers (including yours truly) visited Victoria and embarked on five different routes, experiencing the best that the state has to offer. It was my first solo road trip in Victoria and it took me from bustling Melbourne to the verdant hills around Daylesford, the historic town of Ballarat and the Grampians. My experiences, and those of the other bloggers, have been beautifully captured in this gorgeous ebook. It includes maps, information about places we visited, many beautiful photos and handy tips. If you’re planning a trip to Victoria, download this ebook (it’s free!) for some inspiration and tips.

    Hi Agness,
I sure had a terrific time! And the distances were manageable, which was great! Lots to see and do in a relatively small area.
