What: Tuna Tataki (seared tuna with baby salad leaves, pear, cucumber, avocado and ginger dressing)
Where: Caballito de Mar (Palma de Mallorca, Balearic islands, Spain)
Notes: The tuna was perfectly seared and the combination with the fresh garden leaves, pear, avocado and cucumber was beautiful. The ginger dressing was an excellent touch, giving the tuna a delightfully spicy edge.
Caballito de Mar is a popular restaurant located just off Palma de Mallorca’s harbourfront. The restaurant specialises in seafood and Majorcan wines. The seafood is incredibly fresh – another highlight of my meal here was the magnificent seabass baked in sea salt. Absolutely divine!

Thanks! Haha! Both you and I know that my backpacking days are over! 🙂

How can you afford to eat so well while you were backpacking? Once again, a great food post!
Hi Tamara,
Thanks for your comment. I agree with you. There are quite a few sub-standard places in Mallorca so I was glad to find this place and have a terrific seafood meal. Great service too & I loved the thick linens!
Cheers,
Keith
Looks good enough to eat! I was born in Mallorca so the island and its food have a special place in my heart. I completely agree Caballito de Mar is a gem of a restaurant in a place where it is easy to get it wrong!
