Velvet moments: travel photo of the week: Buenos Aires

The Sunday antique market in the San Telmo district in Buenos Aires is one of my favourite attractions in the city. Crowds swarm the neighbourhood looking for antiques or to enjoy the many street performers. One Sunday afternoon, I sat at a terrace opposite this stall selling glass bottles. Loved the sun shining through the Argentinian flag and illuminating the colourful bottles!

    Hi Andi,
Yes, I love the San Telmo market. Got to experience it twice, along with the samba band/dancers in the afternoon and the tango in the evening. Simply captivating.

A picture from my favorite city in the world! I love the San Telmo market. I have been there countless times. Did you buy anything?

Hahaha, buying one would’ve meant lugging it around Argentina/Brazil for a month. Uh, no. 🙂

You were able to sit there and not buy one?? Oh, how could that be possible!

The coolest thing about the San Telmo market is looking at 100-year-old photographs and old maps of an incomplete world. Plus, you can’t go wrong with the live tango shows!

Thank you Jen and Nancie for your lovely comments. This is one of my favourite shots of the Sunday market in San Telmo. I sat at a café opposite this stand for several hors just watching people pass by. A wonderful experience!
