Asia is the world’s largest continent and home to more than 60% of the world’s population. It’s a continent of incredible contrasts; from the frozen north to the expansive steppe in Central Asia and the deserts in the Middle East, and the glistening peaks of the Himalayas to the pristine beaches of Southeast Asia, and the futuristic skylines of cities like Shanghai and Tokyo to tribal villages scattered across the continent. It’ll take several lifetimes to explore this wondrous continent! I’m going back to Asia – Malaysia and Indonesia to be exact – in several weeks to visit my family and friends and I’ve been thinking a lot about this trip. When I think of Asia, I think of its amazing nature, vibrant cities, awesome food, colourful cultures and glorious beaches.
